For stoves, you can get a tempered glass shield that prevents tiny hands from reaching hot pots and pans. The stove knobs can get child proof guards that prevent them from being turned by kids that can result in gas being vented into the air resulting in fires. Outlets can be child-proofed with inexpensive plastic covers that slip into them preventing a child from sticking metallic objects into them than can cause electrocution. Many other safety products can be found on the market that are inexpensive and durable enough to last a few years till children get over their over curiosity. Education is the key but better trust your instinct that anything that can go wrong will and that you should take action beforehand rather than learn from past mistakes.
