Central Vacuum Systems (Part 2)
![]()
A centralized vacuum system consists of the vacuum motor that provides the suction, the pipes through which the dirt and air is sucked into to the machine, the hose which you actually use and some form of control which can be a manual switch on the hose or an automatic one that turns the motor on when anything is stuck into the ports you install all around the house. The best thing about a centralized vacuum is that the disposal or dirt storage bin can be located away from the living quarters, say in a garage, basement or the detached utility room besides your house. You get to empty the dirt bag without risking creating a mess in the house and you do not get the tell-tale cloud of dust which indicates a hole in the filter element.
