More on Electrical Safety

Every year, more and more people are falling victim to electrocution as series of events have appliances falling into the most unlikely places like the tub and others. The dangers of water and electricity cannot be understated enough for it takes only a small amount of current to stop the human heart, roughly 600 milliamps of regular household voltage. This can be remedied by opting to get GIFF receptacles or outlets in places that are normally subject to such accidents. GFI’s are a bit expensive but the cost further outweighs the benefit of you and your family members avoiding electrocution.
They may look like ordinary outlets with the addition of status lights which tells if there is a fault with the wiring or grounding which can be dangerous. It cuts-off current in a split second not totally preventing a schock but killing power so fast it rarely has a chance to do harm. In the bathroom, around the kitchen sink or even in places where kids and toddlers play, they can save your children from traumatic injuries that can result from electrocution should they happen to stick something into the electrical outlet. They may cost more, but the life you may end up saving is your own for electricity and water never mix, so why take the chance.
