Changing Colors

You want to change or update a room’s look, but don’t have the money to replace everything. Start with painting your room a different color. It can totally change the look, as well as brighten or enlarge the space if you choose the right shade. If you’re hesitant about what color you should choose, try leafing through magazines or checking online to see what color grabs you. Once you’ve chosen the color you want, choose the right shade, for both the background (wall) and the accents. You can visit home stores and take home paint swatches to choose the right shade for your room. Or better yet, for a small amount, you can ask them to make sample boards, to give you a better idea of the color you’ve chosen and how it will affect the rest of the room. You’ll also be able to see how the shade may change depending on the light available to your room. Once you’ve chosen your shade, you can either have a professional paint your room, or make it a weekend project you can do with friends and family.
